Johnston, Iowa – May 14, 2020 – AgVenture, Inc. is pleased to welcome Samuel Peters to the team for a summer internship focused on product, agronomy and marketing.
“We are thrilled to have Sam join us as our Product Marketing Intern for the summer,” said Scott Hart, AgVenture’s Marketing Director. “He brings a farm background and previously diverse internship experiences that will be an asset to our team.”
Hailing from Bellevue, Iowa, Peters recently completed his junior year at Iowa State University, where he is studying Agricultural Business. His family has a diversified livestock and grain operation where they raise commercial Angus Simmental cross cattle and have a bred heifer development business. His experience working on this operation is a valuable quality for his internship at AgVenture.
Peters has experience working for an eastern Iowa seed corn company as a nursery assistant. He spent previous summers working for the US Forest Service as a wildland firefighter.
“I can’t wait to draw from these experiences and my background to provide as much value as possible to the AgVenture team,” Peters said.
As a student at ISU, Peters is involved in numerous activities and associations: College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Ambassador, Student Alumni Leadership Council and the Alpha Gamma Rho Professional Agricultural Fraternity.
“Sam’s involvement with these associations at Iowa State display customer service qualities we value at AgVenture,” Hart said. “Sam will have the opportunity this year to help our team develop a virtual training concept as we strive to meet the needs of the AgVenture independent seed company network during this unique time in our country and our industry.”
In his free time, Peters enjoys cheering for the Cyclones at Jack Trice Stadium each fall.
